What is a staging or dev environment?
A staging or dev environment is a replica of a production or live website, created for testing installation/configuration/migration scripts and procedures before they’re applied to a production environment.
When will you need a staging or dev environment?
- When you develop a lot of new websites and need to create staging or dev environments frequently.
- When you need to save progress when developing a website.
How to create a staging or dev environment with WPvivid Backup Pro?
Please note that: WPvivid Backup Pro currently does not support creating staging sites for WordPress multisite.
1. Create a backup of a staging environment and send the backup to the Staging folder on your remote storage.
Note: The Staging folder is a public folder on your remote storage accessible to all your websites.
2. Connect a new site to the remote storage and restore the backup to the new site.
